Class ideas?

What kind of classes could you see Zeni adding to TESO in the future? What would their skill lines be? What resource would their class skills use? I have an idea for a class I call the Wanderer, simply put it's a class that at character creation would be able to pick any 3 of the other classes skill trees. So Siphoning from the Nightblade, Restoring Light from Templars, and Daedric Summoning from Sorcerers, allowing you even more freedom than the current system allows. Alternatively you could start the game without picking a class skill line, and just go off and adventure with nothing but the world skill lines, armor, weapons, guilds, etc.

Read my lips. No new classes.

New classes are pointless. Adding new skill lines works better as it continues to add horizontal progrssion to the game where as a class simply adds a repeat of vertical progression.

Classes are just groupings of skillsets, so add more skills you can increase diversity of play styles. As they said, outside of the starting classes, which really just help define your primary preferred skills, you are free to persue any skill you please, so this concept of "classes" is rather silly.

If you really want classes, think of the trifecta. Tank, spiker, and heals. Any "class" boils down to these 3 categories.

There should be classes that do not use magic, or every class should have also stamina options.

If a player says... I am going to play a pure warrior, serving Krom and idolizing my imaginary friend Konan The Barbarian.

You ask then, which class you are going to play then?

Well, I am not going to play any class, so I just pick something, because all those are spell casters.

...

So either classes should not be called classes, but instead like "spell lists", or there should be a lot more variety in the class skills. Or indeed, those 4 new classes for none magic users.

I can't read your lips m8, I don't think new classes are pointless, they allow you a wider variety of choices starting templates and themes, I haven't seen any type of monk class or a skill line that allows me to create one, now there's an idea for a class all on it's own, with class trees related to hand to hand combat, healing, and melee combat with a staff or spears, I think we need another class with a healing tree anyways. But I do agree adding skill lines is a good solution, a skill tree for melee fighting with staves, or hand to hand combat, but those skill lines don't resolve the theme problem, I don't want to be a dragon knight with dragon knight themes running around pretending to be a monk, every class has themes related to them, for sorcerers it's the mage, magic and summons, dragon knights well, it's dragons and melee fighting, nightblades are your rogue sneaky dagger wielding type and Templars are your holy warriors, but those themes don't fit with the character I want to roleplay. I can dress them up and pretend to be something I'm not, but those underlying themes will still be there, in their class skills and (maybe?) class-specific armor. And it's not like I'm asking for a billion new class, or even 5, I just think 1 or 2 more classes would do no more harm, hell I think 1 would do just fine, make it a Ranger, a class skill line focused on bows, a skill line with traps, and a skill line focused on beast mastery or melee.

No you play any class and only use weapon skills and other stamina using skills. You do not have to use the class skills. THere are the options people want, they seem to just get hung up on the word class instead of looking at everything outside of the class skills.

I understand the class system of ESO, I understand you can play whatever you want how you want, but my issue is with themes and variety.

There is no class specific armor. You can ignore using class skills completely. I can make my sorceror into a heavy armor, two-handed swinging barbarian and never touch magicka. Thus the sorceror theme is not even present in my character.

Every skill line you mention for a class would be put to better use as a stand along skill line.

You mention theme of classes always being there. I gave you an example that has zero of the class theme in it. They will be adding more and more skill lines as the game goes on. You will eventually have what you are looking for in some form. We do not need anymore classes. It's been enough of a choke to have what we have now (they already ditched at least 2 more classes in order to put the focus more on skill lines you can get rather than the classes themselves) and there are large numbers of people that push to just get rid of the classes all together as classes are not in the spirit of ES. Making new classes would actually hurt what you seem to want.

I hope your not thinking this because of the new Dev video with the Dragonknight with a staff and spells... ITS YOUR CHOICE. You can use whatever weapon/armor/skills you want to. Not all abilities use magika some use stamina. So just use those ones then if you really hate magika so much;) The class skill lines are a starting point anyway you can learn ALOT more skills then just those ones.

This is wrong imho.

"You do not have to use the class skills" ... So why do I have to select a class in the first place?

I think that the design failed a bit here. In the end it might not be that big deal if the general skills are equally useful. Hoping to see that it makes sense to make traditional none magic using warriors, thieves, archers, etc. ... And hoping to see that there is more than one build option.

I don't want to see any new classes, they are fine with the current 4.
New skill lines however, yes, new skill lines should be added.
