Can anyone recommend some roleplaying game books?

Seems as Bethesda primarily make roleplaying games, I'm hoping that the forum-dwellers here have a good amount of information as to rolepaying game-books. I've tried playing text-based adventures, and I enjoy them somewhat. But I have trouble remembering the commands, and things tend to get quite complicated. I've heard that there's a genre of game books that allows you to roleplay. As I'm entirely knew to this, I was hoping someone could recommend me a good roleplaying book based on what I'm looking for:

- A fantasy RPG

- Good, deep lore

- Decisions

- Something suitable for a beginner

Any advice would be warmly welcomed. :D
