Sheson's Memory Fix (CTDILS) - Thread #2

Post » Fri Jan 24, 2014 6:03 am

Opening a new thread because the last one hit the post limit, and the discussion was still moving quickly with important information. In case sheson himself wants to open a new thread, just message me or the moderators and this one will be deleted.

For newcomers, here's the link to the original post - http://enbdev.com/ctdfix.html

For the people that don't want to compile the .dll themselves, Phinix has compiled the patch, added a few improvements and a nice readme - http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/24235/? The file is in the optional category, "Memory Allocation Patch".

Also while you're there, check out his ENB, it's good.

The patch doesn't technically require anything else than SKSE, but you shouldn't expect it to work properly without ENBoost (you might still get crashes).

To clear up misinformation: ENBoost is a part of ENB, not a separate mod.

You absolutely CAN use ENB without any of the graphics changes and the FPS loss that comes with them. ENBoost is as important as this fix, if not more.

This mod can probably replace Safety Load, although it doesn't do the same thing - you shouldn't need Safety Load anymore with this fix. Try to use it without Safety Load, because Safety Load can possibly cause crashes.

IMPORTANT because some people were confused: if you're using Phinix's version, you need to do what his readme says regarding the SKSE.ini, not sheson's.

READ THE READMES, because the installation process is a bit different from other mods. It's not a simple SKSE plugin.
