Ok I looked multiple times and I don't really see a resemblance? Maybe ever so slightly similar but I'm struggling to see it.

You can see Scandinavia and the italian peninsula pretty well.

Well bundle up France, Spain and Italy with the rest of the continent and you get Valenwood and Elsweyr. Then take UK, move it south and make it wider and more round and you get Summerset Isles.

The scandinavian peninsula, Finland, Poland, Lithuania and everything up to Moscow is High Rock and Hammerfell.

Then most of Russia is Skyrim. Morrowind is kinda China and India is Argonia.

well, we know the Bretons were modeled after the French and possibly partly the English, the Imperials are Romans, and Nords are, well, Norse from Scandinavia.
