Where is the info about what bsa to use stored

so i merged a few mods. they work fine save it no longer uses the original bsa's. so i unpacked the bsa.s dropped the necessary in the data folder.. all forks fine.





i got curious and created a new bsa thats is the combined sum of all the original mods named after the merged mod. removed the loose files.. the merged mod uses the new bsa but none of the textures load .. get the (!) icons for every thing.





so my question is there just something i need do to get it using the new bsa, or is that info stored in the nif's them selves and would take a great deal of work to get working?



satisfied with the loose files but would prefer the bsa's to keeps things neat.



any how thanks for your time, and grateful for any help
