Pre-paids and the PSN

Post » Sun Jan 26, 2014 2:06 pm

I have never used Paypal before, but as i just spent cash on a $200 prepaid Mastercard, only to find out PSN doesn't like to accept prepaids, I am wondering if I can use paypal with one of these damn prepaid credit cards..

EDIT: tried paypal, didn't work.. guess I'll have to drive into town tmr morning and buy some PSN cards with these pre-paids

I don't know if PayPal accepts gift cards, but I do know a way you can use a gift card on PSN, since I had the same problem not too long ago. You can just buy a PSN card from Amazon and use the code to add it to your PSN account.

you sure they give me a code? Im looking at it on amazon.ca and it says "free shipping" and "gift-wrap avaliable"..
that doesn't sound like a code (unless i'm a dunce and looking at the completely wrong spot)

I use prepaid credit cards on PSN all the time. Did you make sure you registered it online? PSN, and most other purchases online will require you to register the card (which the information for that would be with the little instruction thing that comes with the card). You gotta go to the card's website and put in your name, an address and a phone number, then you will be able to do online purchases, such as PSN when you use that same information (it doesnt even have to be right, it just has to match with what you put in when you register the card).

You can also use the online site to look at your active balance on the prepaid card.

And i have used both prepaid visas and mastercards on PSN and other online purchases.

Hmm they must have changed it sometime in the last 2-3 months. I literally used one on the PSN like at the beginning of winter here. Well that's good to know for the future, i guess.

I've never used paypal myself so im not sure on that scenario either.
