Just installed, won't run.

Some help would be appreciated.

I got a new laptop this year and just scraqed together the cash to get some Steam Games, so I installed FO3, Game of the Year Edition from Steam, today. The install went great, no problems.

I click on the launcher, and everything runs smoothly, I get the 'product code' page from Steam, and click play.

The splash page shows up, still nothing wrong.

Then I click on 'play', and the splash page disappears...

But no game.

I can't even find the thing running in my task manager.

I don't know my exact system specs, but I can run a modded Fallout Vegas: Ultimate Edition perfectly at medium settings.

I'm running Windows Eight,

And haven't installed any mods for the game. (But I did, following the install, syn up the Nexus Mod Manager [0.46.0] with the game so I could install them after I got the game running.)

Did I do something wrong? Or is there something I'm missing?

Did you install the http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/DownloadClient?

You don't have to register, just need the client installed.

I don't have that, no, but I didn't think I'd need that, since I'm running everything from Steam.

I think you still need to have it installed. There are quite a few games on Steam that are GFWL also, like Dark Souls.

Alright,

Alright, I just downloaded that and did the steps in the 'Windows 7/8' thread (I apologize for not noticing that before)

...

But now Steam's telling me I've got a code I need to input so I can load up the Expansion Packs... And while I've got the annoying pop-up in the bottom right corner, helpfully telling me what my code is, I'm not getting any 'input code here' pop-up, in-game.

Is there some specific point I've got to hit in order to put in the code?

If so, could you tell me when? (And if I'm going to have to put in this code every time I boot up the game/make a new character?)

Thanks very much for the help, by the way.

EDIT:

Okay, never mind... I just left the vault and started getting the DLC Pop ups.

(Shrugs) If it ain't broke.

Thanks again for the help,

Time to Mod!
