I'm not 100% certain of this but I believe custom weapon types require engine updates. When Dawnguard added crossbows to the list, it was done in an engine update and added a new weapontype to the end of the list.

Various weapon mods that add non-standard weapons to the game (quarterstaves, throwing tomahawks, katars, etc) do so by creatively mixing and matching the existing weapon animations as well as altering their animation speed; I recommend you do the same!

Verteiron is correct. There is no practical way to make your one weapon type in the CK.
For example when spears are added to the game they are often actually only Great-swords or Battleaxe/WarHammer weapon types and thus use the Great-sword/Battleaxe/WarHammer animations and other rules sets (sound effects, killmoves, sheath placement... etcetera) for that weapon type.

You could always force that new weapon to use other rule-sets with scripting, but thats not so practical, especially with messed up .ini settings and other script-heavy mods, e.g. Spooky's combat mod, which is a must-have.

Since everything has been covered I'll asnwer your only unanswered question- you can't change the topic title on your own either, but if the topic is important (as in, a discussion topic you plan to have around for a longer time) you can report your topic and ask a mod to edit it. :P

You don't have to "find" him, you just click the report button bellow your avatar while you're in your topic. :) I did it for you this time.
