While trying to resolve another issue entirely, I disabled most of my mods, then put them back in. Unfortunately something seems to have gone horribly wrong since I ran Boss, and for some reason most of my graphics have gone black. It was working fine before, but I run a lot of mods and can't remember the load order. Is there any way to revert to previous load order once Boss mixes it all up?

Boss has never had this horrible effect before; the game looks horrendous.

Try System Restore, it has fixed other weird issues for me like this. I have no idea if this would work, but it did fix an issue with FOMM Upgrade that did that broke. Worse comes to worse, you lose a few Windows Updates that you have to get again, or you can undo system restore too.


BTW, Heed this, you can't remove mods from a save, and for sure, you can't remove them, then put them back on again. It is a sure fire way to hose your save files. Instead, have a test character, preferable made with no mods installed, that you use to test mod mixes with before you load up any character's that you care about.

In other words, even if you get the load order sorted, you may have to give up on those save slots that you were making in the middle of this.

Don't worry - I know ALL about saves being borked by this kind of testing. That's why I didn't make any. All through the process I've been using the same 'test' save; and I only disabled the mods, then re-enabled them again. I know how adding and removing things leaves untidy great holes all over the scripting!

Thank you for your suggestion re: my load order issues - I never had that with Boss before. Plus I never would have thought to use system restore that way - worked like a charm. Now I only have to worry about Heljarchen Hall; maybe I'll just live elsewhere
