Skyrim stole my sanity

Post » Wed Jan 29, 2014 12:29 pm

This past weekend my hard drive crashed, and I lost all of my data. It's been three days without Skyrim, and while I was driving yesterday, I looked out the window to find a group of clouds that resembled a pack of Netches undoubtedly. I turned to my friend in the passenger seat and exclaimed excitedly

"Look! Netches!" pointing to the clouds.

He shot me a look of unparalleled suspicion.

"Are you high?" he said cautiously.

I believe Skyrim has intruded my thoughts. Anyone else or am I the only insane player on the forums?

Last weekend me and my girlfriend visited my best friend who lives outside town. We took a walk around the lake where he lives.

Where we live in Sweden we have gotten some snow and the area we were walking in looked very much like Skyrim with a lake and snowy mountains/forests around it.

I once picked a flower and started to stare at it from all angles...then I ate it...Like I do in skyrim sometimes haha.

EDIT- I do it all the time in skyrim.

Sanity is overrated. ;)

Can't say I've had an experience like that though. I'll have a think..

Where I live, we have these purple looking weeds that grow along side the road. They look 100% identical to purple mountain flower. I made a comment to my wife, she thought I was crazy.

Yes this happens too. Alchemical ingredients often catch my eye these days... despite their obvious lack of "Restore Magicka" qualities. :D My backyard is full of things that would compliment a potion.

I still look at the shadows cast by trees and consider how lucky it is that reality can have tree shadows on. Also, you should check out the LOD here, marvelous! I can see the mountains and individual trees on the mountains!

It doesn't really happen much now, but I would occasionally jump/tense when a bird's shadow passed overhead, just as I do in-game.

Hey, at least it wasn't a TOE. Or some Dwemer Oil that had been sitting around for a couple thousand years in some ruin. Or... human flesh.

Hahaha... It makes me laugh to myself sometimes when I want the first alchemical property and my character is all..."I'll just gnaw on these elk antlers like they are rawbone and see what happens"

Sometimes when I see flowers I get the urge to harvest them. Oh and like Xmiss-WooX, sometimes I tense when I see a bird flying and I'm thinking 'oh god, dragon!' But these are all thoughts that happen and disappear again in 1 second, so I'm not questioning my sanity too much - yet :D

Morrowind stole most of my sanity. Oblivion stole the rest of the little sanity I had left. By the time Skyrim came out I had no sanity left to steal. :D

Think of the poor folks waiting for HL3; spotting lambdas in the sky, in the tea, in the everywhere. :P

You're NOT alone, but I don't know if me being in the same boat is an consolation :)

- I look for skeevers every time I venture into my basemant!

- I try NOT to shout at anyone, thinking they may just go flying off into a wall or something.

- On my daily walks, I turn my whole body from side to side instead of just my head. (OK. Not really, but I do think of Skyrim when I am looking around :P )
