Nord, Redguard, Breton, Oh My!

Post » Wed Jan 29, 2014 6:02 am

From everything we are seeing, there really doesn't seem to be much setting these three races apart, other than starting area. Most of the hairstyles and beards all look the same. It doesn't appear your going to be really able to make, say a Nord who looks like the one in the main video, the long beard with the braids hanging from it, with long hair, etc... The only real thing that seems to differentiate them all is the skin color, for the most part. I hope there are enough differences in the final launch to make a Nord who looks like the one we keep seeing posted by Zen in either the CG videos or concept art...

Anyway, I'll shut up, just bored, and tired of waiting. :)

I remember in Oblivion it was easy to make a Nord look like an Imperial, vice versa. Same with the other human races.

They are all humans (Well, bretons are part/mostly human), so yeah, obviously they are going to look similar to each other.

LOL, I have the same problem, I SO WANT TO TALK about things, but I can't...I was trying to bring up the subject based solely on whats been released... Yes, they are all human, however, they should all not have the same cut/paste hair/beards etc... from what we have seen, of course.... :) My secondary is going to be Cat... which ''by the looks of it'' has an awful lot of options available for look customization. :)

I would like to see some more unique variations of hairstyles too to set them apart, but think of it this way. As far as Nord and Redguard go they are both humans so really all the hair styles and beards etc. should be able to be used for both because it would be possible. I could see them limiting Breton because of there different background but they probably wont. If someone wanted to say create a Nord but also would prefer to play in Daggerfall this allows for that in a way by giving Redgaurds the same possible appearance options.

if I play a Cat I want to play this weird Khajiit monk type character who was raised by the Moth Priests.... That might be my 3rd character. I fwould like to play that character as mastering crossbow and hand to hand - but thats likely not going to happen, ever.

First two are Breton Sorcerer dashing Spellsword (or if you prefer, Bladesinger) and Redguard gruff cut-throat nightblade. Voices and mannerisms already in place.

SLIGHTLY MORE ON TOPIC: I believe that yo uwill not have much to worry about in regard to "looking the same" they can be made to look the same (mostly) in as much as they are all "human" (except Breton who are a mix of men & mer) but there are so many possibilities as by the character creation videos etc....

I recognise the first three but whats race is an "Oh My!" ?

Sounds like a camp imperial hairdresser

I agree that all the human races should be able to use each others styles and appearances especially when you take into account that every subspecies of Khajiit is bundled together.
