I use both sounds of skyrim and improved combat sounds... though the skyrim stability guide states this...

4. Sound Mods.
Many newer sounds mods are stable, work well, and are good for your saves (such as Audio Overhaul), but many of the older ones will cause serious issues, break down, run rampant scripts, use over-sized sound files and more. Its best you read ~2 pages of the comment section to understand the general opinion and issues with the mod. (there might not even be any)
