I am planning on buying skyrim legendary, but I don't want vampire attacks in my early game. Can I uninstall ( dawnguard only) temporarily, then re-install at a higher level?

You can just uncheck Dawngaurd in the Data options in the Skyrim launcher. No vampire attacks.

There is also a mod that makes an effort at reducing them..... but, not totally eliminating them.

In any event, you don't really start seeing them until level 10 supposedly. I think I have seen them at level 8 though...... maybe just a glitch?

There's mods to fix THAT too. :)

When Vampires attack, and Run for your lives. They each address a particular situation, and anyone that really should be a non-combatant, runs for shelter, be it their home, the inn, or, the nearest interior cell, depending on circumstances. Keeps folks alive. (from being killed by their own outright stupidity. I fail to get why folks would think its a good idea to go hand-to-hand with a friggin dragon....... darwinian selection??? For NPC's???? Really??? )

Hiya HeyYou!

Also, if you get any mods that have Dawnguard .esp's listed, uncheck them too. Otherwise the game can crash when loading.

Vampire attacks in early game added some much needed tension for me, and some very good drama lol. But as suggested there are mods to deal with the NPCs, and you can always uncheck dawnguard.

The mod http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38151/? allows you to set the level of when vampire attacks start independently from when Dawnguard recruitment begins. So you could potentially start Dawnguard-related quests well before random vampire attacks begin. Or you could delay them both the same amount. Or you can delay the vampire attacks so much you effectively remove them from the game. Lots of options!
