Circus?

So, what I've been working with is very interesting and frustrating at the same time. I've managed to make an object that, when equipped, causes the character to be temporarily blinded. Sadly this object can be anything BUT an ingredient or potion, which makes the endeavor a failure. If somebody could have a look at this script and tell me what I could do to make it work if applied to a potion, I would be most grateful.

begin SnakeOilEffectshort OnPCEquipshort CurseAddedfloat Timerif ( CurseAdded )set Timer to ( Timer + GetSecondsPassed )if ( Timer >= 5 ) ; after 5 s remove the spell.set Timer to 0Player->RemoveSpell "_Mk_snakeoil"set CurseAdded to 0endifendifif ( OnPCEquip );when item is equippedif ( MenuMode )elseif ( CurseAdded == 0 )Player->AddSpell "_Mk_snakeoil" ; a spell of type curse!;custom spell blindset Timer to 0set CurseAdded to 1set OnPCEquip to 0elseif ( CurseAdded ) ; Add the spell only oncePlayer->RemoveSpell "_Mk_snakeoil"set CurseAdded to 0endifendifend SnakeOilEffect

I also found these pics online for a more upscale vardo (gypsy wagon) that you might see in Vivec or bigger cities:

Definately looks like something Princess Stomper would come up with.

OMG, Shinjack please tell me you made these and released them as modders resources? I've got a wandering character who desperately wants a gyspy wagon home right now and that second one would be perfect for her!

Also what happened to this circus idea? Looked interesting.

Sorry, these were models I found online. Definitely not mine. I'm not sure if there were restrictions on there usage or not. Most stuff I download is from 'free' sites, but I'm not sure exactly which sites these came from. Just for reference, if you decide to look for them yourself, gypsy wagon = vardo. :)

Seeing Gypsy or Circus vardos as a mod in our game would be a dream come true. With all the expanses of land in Morrowind that are fairly flat, or flat enough to make a camp the size of the Ashlander camps, circuses and Gypsy camps are the only thing missing. I love the idea that they also would be nomadic.

Would be even sweeter if the set up camps had both entertainers with juggling animations or fire blowing, like the animation Dagoth Ur kind of uses when he is blowing dust or whatever from his nails.

Would be also nice that at the start of the mod, Circus signs would appear in the towns it would be near at least a Morrowind week before they opened, with a town global like the Public Library mod where people are talking about it. Or seasonal, like the Holiday Mod. Both are fantastic for "things to look forward to" with regards to the game.

Oh, and don't forget the victual's seller! Would be great to see some circus oriented foods and libations sold or consumed.

I suppose I can look through my models to see if I can find the ones I have, then check the sites where I found them and any usage restrictions. It may take me a little while, since I pulled all of my Morrowind/Eldanorcara/models off my laptop to make room for whatever programs I will need when I go back to college next month. But I have them on disc somewhere. The problem is I have about four dozen discs with models. I probably have them on one of my backup/portable drives somewhere as well. I do remember one of them had some problems, i.e. the wheels and axles weren't completely aligned. I'll get back with you.

Packed these 2 wagons up real quick from my archives. Not any official modder pack release, though I may do a wagons and carts modder pack at some time in the near future. :)

OK, I found these models in my files:

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/roulotte_coul.jpg 4847 faces
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/Roman_Wagon.jpg 202765 faces
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/PeddlersWagon.jpg 51484 faces
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/horserail.jpg
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/GypsyWagon.jpg 153024 faces
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/GypsyCaravan.jpg 1976 faces
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/vardo.jpg 1913 face

Hmmm, I hope I got those face counts right and didn't mix them up. That's all I can find at the moment. I know I have at least one more somewhere, because I remember one with the back door open with furniture inside. Probably even higher poly than these. I'm pretty sure none of these have been uvmapped, etc., and I think they are all in .obj format at the moment. Haven't looked for them on websites to check permissions for usage, yet, but I'm 99% sure they were all free downloads.

Those two would be just about perfect for my needs. The first one looks a lot like the painted and open one in that previous post of yours I quoted, if my eyes do not deceive and I must admit it was absolutely everything I've ever wanted in a gypsy wagon, right down to the placement of the stove and bedding. So adorable, comfy, welcoming and economic all at once... *drools*

No rush anyway, I'm currently modding/playing PC less, probably for another week or so so I can't grab anything for a few days more at least.

How about a naturelover/animal rights activist type, who has counter missions to mess up the circus/release the animals?

Just be aware that the one mesh has over 150,000 faces!
That would severely limit anything else you could put in exterior cells with it.

Wow, those meshes are fabulous. Oh, what I would give for a Baskin Robbin's sized spoon of that digital talent.

I can kick it your way if ya want.

Well, for the 150k version, I was able to reduce it using an external polygon reduction program to about 7650 triangles, about 95% off the original, without it looking too bad.

BEFORE http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/ScreenShot001.jpg
AFTER http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y131/Skinjack/ScreenShot002.jpg

Someone would still need to map it, etc. And its a one object model, so it would have to be split to make mapping it easier. But it will be available if anyone cares to try it. Still need to find where I got it from to make sure it can be used.

I would be interested in having a go at texturing it. Once it is all cleared and set to texture. :)

OK, I'll see if I can find where i got it from tomorrow. I'll send you a couple of different poly levels between the 7650 triangles and the 150k. I don't have Max on my computer at the moment, so I can't really tell how good the reduced model is. Maybe I'll do one at about 15k and 30k as well. One of them should be good enough to map and texture.

I can work with texture maps, but am strictly a texturer though. So someone else would need to do that part.

I'm sure someone will eventually step up to try it. It's a little beyond my mapping abilities at the moment. In the meantime, I found where I got it from.

Sounds like its usable, just give credit due.

I also found where I got the Peddler's and Roman wagons from, and they have unrestricted use for anyone interested.

Well if you upload them, I'll see what I can do about getting someone to map them.

It would make for a nice group effort actually. More than one texturer doing their versions of the wagon. A proper gypsy camp or circus should have a variety of colorful wagons. :)
