Continuing on from the last thread....

Stuck inside with all the wonderful weather this past weekend/week, I finally got around to starting The Witcher (Enhanced Ed). I'm up to the start of Ch 3 (just got out of the Posh Reception).
It's..... ok? Geralt isn't really clicking with me, the combat system is a bit odd.
And it's helped me realize something (which was probably also a factor in my not enjoying FO:NV as much) - I find these massively-intertwined-multilayer-quest structures to be frustrating. You know, the whole "There's multiple ways you can solve Quest 1! One will screw things up a bit, another will screw things up a bit differently, the third will screw everything up. And each solution will fold/spindle/mutilate the solutions of Quests 2, 3, and 4! In different ways! Oh, and if you advanced Quest 3 too far before you got to stage 5 of Quest 1, you can no longer talk to these NPCs or get solutions A or B." AAAAAAAAAAAA! The fact that, even with a guide, the best you can hope for is to only mess things up 25-50% (instead of 50-75%), and that almost everything you do will be mangling several other quests at the same time? Frustrating! And also leads to tons of paralysis, as every conversation makes you stop and hesitate/overthink/stress out/etc.
So, yeah. About the only thing keeping me going is wanting to see where the overall story goes, and collecting cards.
Is Witcher 2 more of the same? I got both of them from a Steam sale for pocket change, but it might not even be worth the download. :/
