So it's a cross between pay to play and free to play?

It is subscription based($15 per month) while having the option to buy additional fun things via the in-game microtransaction shop? Have I got this down correctly?

How is that a cross. That's not uncommon, look at WoW.

I don't see where you are getting F2P from. TESO is subscription based, monthly pay.

Even some browser games have used the same system.

No, there is no MT shop or item shop. ESO is Pay to play, meaning you buy the Box, then pay the sub to access the game.

Maybe I should have rephrased. A cross between say, Guild Wars 2 and a traditional pay to play MMO like FF14. The base subscription fee is required to play the game while additional fun things are available in the in-game microtransaction store, ala Guild Wars 2.

That's incorrect from my understanding. A cash shop was confirmed via an interview many months ago. It will include "fun things and services".

I said "No MT shop or item shop". This is in fact correct. You won't be buying game items, like gear or dungeons from a MT shop. There will of course be a store for account services.

Again, No there is no in game item store. The store for account service will no doubt be accessed on their website. I'tll be like WoW, not a mix of anything.

How do store services classify as "fun things"? When I think of "fun things" I think of vanity pets, exclusive skins, armour, and such things. I do not think of something as a name change to be fun. It's clear when he mentioned "fun things" he was not talking strictly about account services.
