Missing Dialogues?

Post » Sat Feb 01, 2014 4:38 am

Just installed Morrowind GOTY (The one with Bloodmoon/Tribunal), and I've hit on a problem:

Dialogues seem to be missing? When I go to a door, for example, it will say "Door to " and then there'll just be a blank; when I speak to an NPC, there'll

be no topics listed, and when I look at a sign, It just comes up as an empty square...

I'm using Windows 7, and everything else in the game seems to be fine. Anyone come across this glitch before? I tried googling, but couldn't turn anything up, but maybe I just didn't use the right terms? (I got stuff looking for lists of TopicIDs, for example).

Just to be sure, where did you install the game?

I remember using the default installation folder could cause problems.

It's installed onto a portable hard-drive, the same place I have Oblivion and Skyrim installed; as far as I can tell so far, everything else is fine in the game, but I've already had to console passed the soldier who gives tells you where to go. I'm going to try a re-install in a bit.
