Youtube did it again!

Finally gotten used to our most recent update? Very accustomed to the way our website works?

NOT ANYMORE! Let's go ahead and just change a few things around for no reason at all. And you know that search bar you've been using to narrow down your subscriptions for the past year? You know, the one that makes finding the content you mainly watch... EASY? Let's go ahead and get rid of that!

Anyone else been updated to the greatest new version of Youtube, and if so, how are you handling it?

I stopped caring about the constant little changes YouTube likes to do back in 2008. eg, I hardly ever log in anymore. If a video requires me to login to view, I don't view it.

I also don't subscribe to anyone, so that takes care of that problem. :P

But I do know where you're coming from. I remember way back, when one change they made was give one of the buttons a new look. That was it. I guess they need to keep their artists busy, y'know? Kinda like an MMO game where they keep changing the appearance of icons for no apparent reason.

Yeah, same. Took a few years for me to actually realise how little I used YouTube though, but ~2 months ago I decided to delete my Youtube account (including, gasp, 4 videos) and all things Google

I used it a fair bit during the FNV days but very rarely since. I've considered deleting my account/s but not quite ready for that - it's still occasionally handy/fast for sharing/embedding something as an "unlisted" link, vs. some other video-sharing site.

But yeah...I'm starting to feel that way re: Google stuff. I don't even like using their search engine anymore, whenever possible.

The one recent change to YouTube that I did actually notice and became grumpy over for about 10 minutes was not being able to view user comments anymore, without having scripts turned on. Then I remembered YouTube comments are almost never worth reading anyway. :D

I don't think mine has updated yet. Although I've gotten used to the continual changes. As long as my playlist isn't touched I don't mind....BUT DON'T TOUCH MY PLAYLIST!

Mine hasn't changed yet. My only issue with YouTube updates--besides the more noticeable changes--is that they seem to do these almost pointless tweaks that doesn't improve the user-friendliness or accessibility in any logical way, so it feels more like they're just doing them for the hell of it.

I believe this is a thing that they call iteration and YouTube has been doing it since 2005. They've certainly made some bone-headed changes in their time but I never understood all the hate over small tweaks and experiments like this.

I remember when YouTube had content, what is it now, cats, drunks doing stupid [censored], sober people doing stupid [censored], and people desperately trying to become the new YouTube sensation, id love to see what Google removed from YouTube.
