You know what's funny? I always heard he was such a big actor, yet I don't think I've ever seen him in anything outside of Capote.

Pretty sure I remember seeing him in Boogie Nights. I know there's others I've seen him in, but I can't think of them at the moment.

EDIT: I knew it, I remember him in The 25th Hour as well.

Moneyball, Mission Impossible III, and Catching Fire. All three were pretty popular movies. It's always a sad day when someone passes.

Oh, I'm not saying he's NOT a big or great actor, just that I'd somehow managed to avoid most of his movies by weird chance. I'd heard several people in the past bring him up, yet I never really had much familiarity with his work.

As for the Hunger Games, I didn't care for the book or movie, so I just kinda lost interest in the series.

The last one I mentioned is an Edward Norton film, so IMO it's worth checking on that fact alone. Of course I've always liked Norton.

That's too bad. I saw him in quite a few films. Scent of a Women, Big Lebowski, MI3, Moneyball, etc. He had 3 children.

He also played in the movie Twister. I remember him most of all from MI:III. He can make a good villain that's for sure.

Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors.

He made a great villain in MI:III.

R.I.P

I'm not a huge movie person so I have no clue who he was.

I love this guy, was in the only good adam sandler movie and was the best thing in it with his portayal of an arrogant bad guy. Such a shame.

Poor Dusty. One of my favorite scenes from a movie.

It's pretty sad, I think he was clean and sober for like, 20 some years, and fell off the wagon in 2013 and checked into rehab.

He was a rather brilliant character actor, could really disappear into a role.

For me it's not so much that I haven't seen enough of "his" movies to know who he is/like him and think his name adds to the credits of an upcoming film, but that he often didn't play a lead and/or, as Leydenne said above, disappears completely into a role. So sometimes people won't remember a particular actor was even in the movie. Not saying that's your case...just a general observation.

...I mean, for example, right now, I cannot for the life of me recall what role he had in Moneyball - a film I've seen 3 times and bought on DVD.

At any rate, his death at 46 is a real shame. Not just because his age (only very slightly older than me...), but the addiction cycle it seems to represent. I'm glad, however, that he kicked it for long enough to give us plenty of good performances to remember him by.

Nope, I checked his filmography after posting that and I found out I was right, Capote is the only movie I ever saw him in. Kind of embarrassing since everyone goes on about how great he is in all these movies and I'm just going "i....never saw it."
