Next playthrough = Requiem. Mod me up please!

Post » Tue Feb 04, 2014 4:00 am

So currently I'm on my first SkyRe playthrough. While there is a LOT to like about it, the philosophy of Requiem appeals to me a bit more as SkyRe, while a whole lot better IMO than vanilla, still very much feels vanilla.

Therefore, after this playthrough, Requiem it is. I've compiled a list of mods and utilities that I want to use / am in doubt over.

I'm mainly looking for advice re. compatibility and additional suggestions for mods that go well with Requiem. Any and all advice is appreciated of course. Thanks in advance!

Definitely:
Unofficial Patches
Requiem
Requiem - Resources (should I download this regardless? not sure which patches this is for)
Azirok's patches
SkyUI
Immersive Armors
Civil War Overhaul
Immersive Creatures Lore Friendly
Guard Dialogue Overhaul
Player Headtracking
Interesting NPCs
Immersive Patrols
a Quality World Map with Roads / Warburgs 3D Paper Map
SMIM
Better Dynamic Snow
Clanking Armor
RaceMenu
iHUD
Even Better Quest Objectives
Realistic Lighting Overhaul
WATER / Realistic Water Two
The Paarthurnax Dilemma
RaceMenu
Improved COmbat Sounds / New Combat Sounds
Xenius Character Enhancement
Unique Region Names
Skyrim Distant Detail
Dance of Death
Cloaks of Skyrim
Jewels of the Nord
Player Size Adjuster
Auto Unequip Ammo
Maybe:
aMidianborn Weapons + Armor (performance concerns)
Realvision ENB (performance concerns)
Footprints (performance concerns)
Wet & Cold (performance concerns)
Splash of Rain (performance concerns)
Skyrim Bigger Trees (performance concerns)
Frostfall (have limited time to play. is this still recommended then?)
Realistic Needs & Diseases (see above. I like immersion but dislike "busy-work". Still recommended?)
Immersive Weapons (hit-and-miss for me, don't like many of the models, also I think there might be duplicates re. Requiem's built in Weapons of the 3rd Era?)
Falskaar
Moonpath to Elsweyr
Wyrmstooth
High-Res Texture Pack of choosing (any suggestions here?)
Unique Uniques (had some trouble with this one on my last playthrough, most of the new textures / meshes did not load at all)
Test first:
Duke Patrick's (does this work well with Requiem? Am looking for a combat mod that changes behaviour / tactics, but don't want any changes in formulas / what have you that overwrite Requiem's)
ENB Boost (due to performance concerns)
Utilities:
BOSS
NMM
Wrye Bash
SKSE
My setup:
Intel Core i5 3450 (Socket 1155, Boxed)
XFX ATI Radeon HD7950 3GB DDR5 Black (PCI-e)
Corsair 8GB PC3-12800 Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 SDRAM (2x 4GB, 1600MHz, CL9)
Samsung 128GB Solid State 830 Series (SATA-600, 2.5")

Your best bet is to look at the Nexus thread for Requiem. You can find mod compatability information there and guides. Requiem is not very active here.

Hi, when I started Requiem I found this video by DFValroth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6pFhld3-pw

In the info text to the video he lists the used mods, and I think it is a good foundation (except for Civil War Overhaul, which is cool, but has some effects on the game I did not like). He also lists the compatibility patches for requiem for several mods. Very useful. I added Frostfall, Realistic Needs and Diseases, Climates of Tamriel, Realistic Lighting Overhaul plus some other stuff with no problems. Realvision ENB was for me only playable with the 'performance ' option.

It's a good idea to start Requiem with a throw-away char for some levels to get used to the different feel. In the beginning you're very vulnerable and you will run away a lot. :)

Thanks both, watching the video now and will post this on the Nexus thread later.

shv, what is it you didn't like exactly about Civil War Overhaul?
