How to understand Skyrim's source.

I would like to understand how the game does certain things under the hood. Specifically related to how the Creation Engine and Havok Behavior 'talk' to each other. I would also like to be able to write SKSE plugins to alter the way the game does certain things. But I don't know exactly how to look for the things I need to know.

I understand the basics of assembly language and I am aware of some of the tools possibly required but I could use a few pointers about how to go about such an investigation, if someone would be kind enough to help me.

Maybe a PM to the SKSE team; this sort of discussion might be seen as leaning into reverse-engineering territory, and I doubt if Bethesda are keen on that taking place on their forum. They're very tolerant, but better safe than sorry.

Yea, I figured that might be the case, that's why I didn't mention anything specific (such as the tools I'm using). It's just that I don't really like bothering people with pm's out of nowhere about such things but I suppose I'll send one and hopefully I'll get a bit of advice.

It's not that important but such information would really make it much easier for me change underlying game mechanics by patching behavior files in very specific ways (I also need to know this stuff to help mindboggles get her custom creature to piggyback on existing game AI).
