Your First Dragon Kill

Post » Tue Feb 04, 2014 3:15 pm

Hello I'm a Level 10 Battlemage, I believe I am ready to take on the Main Quest after going through some of the side quests in Winterhold.

I would like to know, what is your character and at what level did you kill your first dragon and how did you kill it?

Do you remember long enough your first dragon kill?

Share your story please. Thanks!

Michael the Argonian, the whiterun guards and Irileth ran up to a dragon. Michael started smacking it in the hit box with an iron sword. The whiterun guards and Irileth stood there like "holy [censored] did you just absorb the dragon's soul" and Michael was like "...."

level 2, the guards did most of the work so to speak... after that though it was soon like popping candy as I leveled to the point it was like "another one.."

I twas an Imperial, I was like level 5 or 4. I ran ahead and waited at the point for 5 minutes until the slowest guards ever came. I then wandered aroud when they said L000L go look for loot, I mean survivor L0000000000000000000L

I never found him, but I heard him. I think I took an Imperial Sword, and Flames Spell and tried to kill them, and I ran away and attacked it when the guards had whittled it down, and I did one of the finishes, and I thought that it was the most badass moment ever in the game. A year later I'm slicing through bandits, and bears, and dragons as if they were butter. Those guards better get new swords. My armor is made of butter.

My first kill... I remember it though I don't recall my lv.

My character was a dunmer gal with red hair named demona (I think. We're talking a couple years ago here) I had no idea how large Skyrim was or how free roaming it was. So right out of Helgen I made my way to Riverwood though not with Hadvar. I had a moment when I exited the cave and saw how large Skyrim appeared, I had to test the weather and daylight effects by waiting an hour. I was so amazed that while I was playing, the game would turn to night and then back to day. Unheard of I tell you.

So anyway I went to Riverwood, helped out there a bit and talking with people, I learned I was to go to Whiterun. I just kinda followed the quest at this point and ended up at the Watch Tower probably sooner then I should have. I remember running up to the top to get a good look at the dragon, ended up spending the rest of it hiding in the tower while the guards and Irileth fought the dragon for me. of course when it landed, I raced out like a hero with my axe and hit it a couple times for good measure.

And that's how I became the dragonborn... although a cowardly one.

When doing so and seeing that kill cam trigger, I was thinking to myself "Wow, this is just as epic as that E3 footage!". Then I played the rest of the main questline and was bored to death of the whole plot. Still, actually fighting dragons has never gotten old for me.

Level 5 or so, it was that whiterun dragon and I did use NPCs help. through swords and magic we brought the thing down and it did feel good.

To be honest, I don't remember it that well. Sure, I know Mirmulnir even though it wasn't particularly exciting as the guards did everything for me, but the next one? In my first playthrough I didn't encounter any random dragons until level 20 or so, and even then they were very rare. I couldn't understand why everyone else was complaining and calling them the new cliff races, I hardly ever saw any.

I'm pretty sure I killed my second dragon at Northwind Summit. I only know it because Aura Whisper was one of my first shouts, and the only shout I knew at the time that had to be learned from a wall in a dragon lair. My character wasn't a complete weakling at that point, she had spent a lot of time around Whiterun and Riften before she ventured further north. I must have killed it with a bow, as it was the only weapon my character used.

It's a little strange that I don't remember. I have vivid memories of other dragon encounteres: an elder dragon in the geyser area, my Khajiit's first dragon on the way down from High Hrothgar (he was like level 2 and had only Flames to protect himself with, it was terrible), an attack in Riverwood etc.

I'd assume you didn't do the quest where you kill Sahloknir at Kynesgrove.

No. Does it increase the frequency of dragon spawns? But even after I completed it, they appeared very rarely.

You do realize we all kill the same first dragon right?

I can't remember what levels I killed him at since there were quite a few to be honest.
