Question for (primarily) PC gamers

Post » Wed Feb 05, 2014 5:04 am

So after the hundred or so characters you've created, the countless mods you've installed, and the sheer amount of time you've spent in Skyrim, have you ever gone back and recreated your first character (not counting "beta" characters that are just toying with the system) with all the modded goodness?

I've thought about it recently. Out of all the characters I've created (including my beloved Ranger) he was one of the coolest, by far.

If not, have you maintained your first character throughout the mod development for Skyrim?

My favorite character is still on my Xbox even though I moved to PC. (I've got close to 300 hours with her and she is level 73 thanks to legendary)

When I tried to make her with mods...I felt strange, Strange but gooooooood. I used a bunch of (Lore breaking) Mods with her and had a blast for over a month.

And I think we all have at least one character we like most.

I moved on to PC from PS3 a little more than a year ago. One of the first things I did was recreating my last PS3 character. She looked the same but better :)
Since then I have also recreated my first character, but I didn't create her to look exactly the same, that was rather me doing the same type of playthrough with the same type of playstyle, questlines and so on, but with better perks and no out-of-character quests.

Yup! I recreated all my Roleplaying characters on the PC version, the mods and console commands allow me to expand their stories and what not.

I've completely abandoned my first Skyrim character. She was a sneaking archer, and once I discovered how very very much I prefer slitting throats instead of putting arrows in them, I haven't looked back. Melee is where it's at in Skyrim, in my opinion. I simply adore the finishing moves.

She'll be recreated in ESO though, I haven't forgotten her.

The mods I've added have all been armor, weapons, or graphics related, and MOAR finishing moves. There are some cool-looking bows in there of course but everyone can use them and I like crossbows better anyway.

TBH i do not mod my skyrim a whole lot. The few mods i have are generally related to appearance (cooler looking armors or weapons), or bug fixes. I would still never, ever buy a bethesda game on console, if only because of the significant bugs that are always present.

I have played one character through vanilla to mod Sir.

Just 51 mods used primarily to enhance immersion and some aspects of combat.

That cart ride to Helgen seems like a thousand centuries ago.

What was that all about?

I have recreated My first characters to do some things that the first characters missed out on due to My lack of Knowledge of the Game. If I have an idea for a character, or a new Mod that requires a somewhat experienced character, I open My stash of unmodded Saved Games and pick one.

I recently discovered an SKSE plugin that allows characters to have body parts with physics, and I have been playing with "showracemenu" to have a floating ponytail on My characters.

I reloaded a character that made it to Skuldafn at level 13, and have been seeing a Man about a Staff, been thrown in Jail in Markarth, assisting a Vigilant in checking an Abandoned House. There is also the problem with the Hall of the Dead...

I've always thought of recreating my first character on day 1 Skyrim. That was long ago on Xbox... Lots of memories of things I wanted to do if only I had a PC... Of course, I've done most of them now on various characters. But I might try and recreate him.

I've maintained my first character as my only character since release day - with about 30 mods, mostly new land, quest and dungeon mods. Though I'm giving him a rest at the moment and playing as one of his ancestors in Morrowind.

No, generally when I finish a character, he stays gone for good. The only exception was my Imperial who got stuck in Solthsteim, and found it impossible to travel back to Skyrim in order to complete his story. I recreated him with a slightly different back story, gave him a different name, but his reason for being was still the same. I managed to finish this one, and he's stayed retied for good.

I don't even remember my first character... Skyrim was the first 'real' game I ever played so with my first character I just messed around, trying to figure out the game and the controls and how to stay alive for more than an hour. I think it took 2 or 3 characters before I knew what I was doing and really started to play the game.

My first character was sort of a 'get all the achievements in the game' sort, which was on xbox, but my first PC char was a Breton named Adryn Decil, a thief and bounty hunter. I haven't played him much since (about lvl 26), but I won't get to now, seeing as my hard drive is fried.

Since my first character was a do everything and get all the trophies character, I had no interest in recreating him since I RP now. I did create a character on PC with his name and skillset, but I never got far into that characters RP.

Well...kinda right now. My first character was a straight mage named Tiamat...twenty characters later, and my "last" character before moving onto Oblivion is also named Tiamat, who's a straight mage and a stealth build (thank you SkyUI for making it easier to switch between equip sets), thus blending the build I had when I first started and my favorite build over all of the playthroughs I've done.
