Question about CBBE armor replacers

Post » Wed Feb 05, 2014 2:11 am

I've switched from UNP to CBBE and have downloaded the vanilla outfits for CBBE as well. The problem is that while my char is slim with low weight, all armors and clothing seem to be for a much curvier body with much higher weight. I thought armors could automatically switch to the correct weight, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Must I use Bodyslide to convert all conversions?

One thing to remember about Armors, they basically replace the skin of the model. Which is why most body mods have their own clothing. CBBE tends to appeal to those who like their characters with some meat on their bones, so that is what the clothing gives you.

I use CBBE in this game, but never messed with the sliders as I could never the game to work (everyone was a black void where there was no clothing) Perhaps the Slider does adjust the clothing shape too.

Yes, or rather, Outfit Studio.

The CBBE outfits converted by the author of CBBE, those were made to adapt to any shape from bodyslide.

Yeah, I think I'll switch back to UNP, where the armors/clothes replacers look much more like fitting for my, hm, low weight chars. What's the point of having a slim option if everything she wears will make her look like Pam Anderson.

But I AM using those (i.e. Calientes Vanilla Outfits) and they definitely don't adapt to my chars slim, low weight body. Or do you mean that they are made to be adapted via Outfit Studio? I think the UNP armors/clothes replacers have working weight sliders.

Perhaps you have to use the Body Slider to make the shape of the NPC that you want before the clothing will change. Which makes me wonder if your going to have all NPCs looking like your character.

Luckily I play in First Person, so my character look is about the least important thing to me in the game.

Yes, but that's done, i.e. my char was shaped when created. Anyway, I'll just switch back to UNP. I don't want to use a program to redo every single outfit in the game.

Nah, those are supposed to conform to the body you create through bodyslide.

I don't know if she's updated them to work with Outfit Studio, but they were definitely made to work with bodyslide.

To clear any confusion, I mean Bodyslide before Outfit Studio was created.

I don't blame you for switching back. It can be tedious. The whole idea behind bodyslide/OS was to make it easier to adapt armors to any body, without having to do it the hard way(through 3D programs).

But now my chars head looks completely different (and ugly), so I'll guess I'll switch back to CBBE again. Man, this became messy.

EDIT: Ah, but it was VERY easy to convert everything to the slim body with BodySlide. I just picked preset CBBE Slim and then BatchBuild everything. Took 30 secs. Excellent! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Terra Nova!
