To those who think that the Stormcloaks are all racists.. #2

You can play a Kahjiit, and the Stormcloaks will still happily enlist you. That pretty much puts paid to rumors of universal racism. And there are racists on both side: look at Tulius; he's a good leader, but he needs some cultural sensitivity training.

I read on the internet that Ulfric Stormcloak forces the Dunmer to grant him tribute in the form of first-born virgins.

He then eats them. Like a true Nord.

I didn't mean the English hagrid (I have family in Liverpool) I just meant people in general nowadays seem to get so worked up over nothing..

BUT, that is off topic so let me add to the topic.

I don't like chickens cause I'm a racist Argonian, but my brother doesn't mind chickens and doesn't agree with me.

I read on the Internet that there is no Internet. We're all just in big capsules harvesting energy for an unknown alien master race and that this is just a big dream.

As an Imperial sympathizer, I can still step back and see that not all Stormcloaks are racist just like many Imperials and their sympathizers are the furthest thing from tolerant. It's been this way since Daggerfall, honestly. It's not really racism so much as it is actually xenophobia and a dislike of foreigners. Which was pretty normal in the Middle Ages, and of course, the previous eras the preceded it in our own history. Anyone can be just as intolerant if you pay attention in these games. Some people just need to put things into perspective and realize it isn't a trait specific to Nord. The game was clearly made to have less than idealized aspects in some parts of the province.

Tl;dr I like that some of the Stormcloaks can be jackasses while plenty of them are actually fairly honorable. Same with the Imperials, really.

I completely agree with you. Though I am a Stormcloak sympathizer.

Both sides have it's good and bad points. So I find it hard to fight about which side is better when it truly depends on the individual character his/her motives for joining the chosen side.

It seems evident enough that Bethesda intentionally made the Stormcloaks more racially biased compared to other groups; they even gave special race-specific dialogue to Stormcloak Guards that are more snippy and negative in tone towards your character's race.

http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Guard_Dialogue

Normal Guard: "What is it Khajiit?"

If Guard is a Stormcloak: "What do you want... cat?"

I don't want to be the one to ruin this peaceful discussion of the civil war, both sides of it were evidently meant to be gray, and this was one of the things Bethesda did to propose that.

And Bethesda did a great job on that, considering too many have warred through thousands of threads debating who's good and who's not... almost like an actual Civil war of Elder Scrolls fans.

Yes, I agree. But I don't think that's immediatly racism on their part. More or less just the attitude.

Lol, it makes sense that people, such as yourself, would color them all with the same brush for regarding your favorite race with disrespect. But, how many people in oblivion have called khajiit "cat" or catmen? And the same in Morrowind, though dunmer have slaves...

Point being, it's seen in extreme cases of racism, like with Dunmer, and less extreme but still present cases like in Cyrodiil. This is how Tamriel is. Granted the legion men in Skyrim regard them properly, but that's likely just to highlight the point that the Nords of Skyrim are xenophobic, and also that they do have their racists. Hell, look at what the Empire sided Markarth is doing. This however isn't the case for them all. Or even most in my opinion, not that it ultimately matters. Refer to my earlier post near the beginning for further detail.
