How much space is needed? Wants to re-download 21GB WTF?

Post » Thu Feb 06, 2014 12:30 am

The installer said it needs 30gb free, so I freed up enough space, it downloaded 21GB, finished, then started installing the game, at some point it said I've ran out of disc space for some reason, and now it wants to re-download the 21GB? Excuse my french when I say WTF kind of system is this?

How much space do you really need to install this game?

I would love to know so I don't have to waste my time re-downloading 21GB over and over again.
What a great introduction to the game...seriously wtf....

*cough*beta forums*cough*

My advice is to always have at least 100GB free for anything you do. We use a lot of HDD space these days, I'm at 7TB and am heading towards filling that and looking to grab up another 4.

You would think that it could have held onto the 21GB worth of files, but no, out of disc space, better delete the entire 21GB installation files, brilliant idea.

I can't even find where the beta forums are, I google "elder scrolls online beta forums" and it finds nothing.

Link would be in the e-mail you were sent about beta.

They are not going to make the beta forum findable via google :)

Beta forum link is in the mail you got with the beta key invite if you were mailed that you got in.

I'm not sure how they are informing people who got their key through curse.com.

beta forum is only able to be accessed by those given a beta key from bethesda, If you got your beta key elswhere... like curse or some other event you will net get access to the beta forums. here is the email I recieved from them earlier concerning that matter.

reetings Young Warrior of Tamriel,

The key that beta invitees received through Curse's giveaway does not include access to The Elder Scrolls Online beta forums. Beta testers who need assistance should contact our Customer Support Team using the buttons on the right side of this page. Players can also request help from within the game by typing /help.
Just because invitees using Curse's giveaway keys don't have access to the forums doesn't mean that we don't value their feedback. To provide feedback on the game experience, beta players should type /feedback in-game. Please also report any bugs encountered during beta testing by typing /bug in-game.
Warm Regards,
Elder Scrolls Online

The info on how to access the beta forums should be in the email you received with the beta invite. (edit: dang my slow responses! :D )

It's certainly a problem that they should know about an hopefully fix for the release version, but then that's what betas are generally here for. :brokencomputer:

Got in, apparently my internet was tripping again. Shouldn't have fed the router acid.

Well since the official requirements for the game is 60gb I would say you would need atleast that.

They'll propably update their requirements here

https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3055/kw/install

Currently it's 30GB + 15% of your harddrive capacity empty (if we're optimistic that the installation requiring 20GB will be removed after install, and fits in that 15%). And this is the minimum for your system to run smoothly.
