I completed both Fallout 3 and New Vegas on the hardest difficulty and New Vegas even with the hardcoe Mode on. I Have never heard of the Franchise before like 5 years ago, when a friend of mine recommened me Fallout 3, so the two 3D Fallouts were the first Fallout games I have ever played.

So I'm a big fan of especially Fallout 3 and the Fallout universe in general and so I decided to play the very first Fallout. But like the title says, I don't understand this game. For instance : There is literally NO chance for me to absolve that quest where you're supposed to kill the nest of deathclaws or to kill the mutants at the military base.

I'm using that Assault Rifle and the Rocket Launcher (big guns at ~80), the "gun" skill is at 100 (well actually its 103, wtf?) and I am wearing the brotherhood of steel armor. Plus I already purchased all the implants to increase the SPECIAL's. I have Dogmeat and Katja as a companion and I am playing on the lowest difficulty but the damage I inflict IS ****** ridiculous. It takes me like 5 shots with the rocket launcher to kill a deathclaw (and there are like 3-4 of them), but this also kills my companions. Dogmeat misses all the time and when he hits he inflicts 1-4 Damage. Using my Assault Rifle is a waste of time at this. Psycho, Mentats and Buffout don't make any difference as well

I believe the max for any skill is 200% in Fallout. So a 80% Big Guns skill isn't that high actually. What kind of rockets are you using? The AP kind is more powerful than the explosive kind. You may also have upped the combat difficulty in the options menu, you can take that down a bit.
