He who must not be named.

Okay, seriously, I don't care who she married/I like the way the movie and books ended.

I personally don't mind that Harry didn't go with Hermione. Maybe I would have liked it, but I would have seen that coming.

JK Rowling couldn't do love or romance to save her life. Pretty much every relationship was along the lines of "Ok characters, I am your god, so now you and you start making out"

I actually think that Ron and Herminone getting together was the least contrived, most hinted at pairing of all the pairings. And by that I mean it got hinted at for more than one chapter.

Or Ginny Weasley. Hell, the whole series should've been from Hermione's perspective, and it should've been Hermione fighting the baslisk while saving Ginny in the Chamber. x)

But seriously, two pointers.

Pointer A- I really thought Ron and Hermione marrying each other was a BIG refreshing break on the usual 'hero gets the girl' trope. With all the crap Ron had been through, I think marrying Hermione was throwing him a big doggy bone. Though I disliked the epilogue, and the whole HarryxGinny romance (which felt too forced, to be honest), I thought Ron and Hermione made a good couple.

Pointer B- What's the point? If Rowling really wanted HarryxHermione, then she had SEVEN books to make that happen. SEVEN. She wrote down from Day 1 that it'd be RonxHermione, not HarryxHermione, and it was becoming increasingly obvious in Book 4 that Ron and Hermione would get together. Bit too late to retract it now after seven books and eight movies about the trio were released to the public. If she had decided this in the process of writing Book 3 or Book 4, that's one thing, but when her series is done and finished? That's like Todd Howard now saying 'I regret not having the player character be the Chosen One in 'The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion'.' Too late, man. Too late. Plus, Harry said it himself, he saw Hermione as more of a sister to him than a lover.

She's acting like she had no choice in the matter...but she did. She wrote the characters to behave the way they did. She literally had all the control in her universe.

Draco Malfoy.
Honestly, I never cared. I don't think she's a good match for either of them, but Ron&Hermione pairing at least gives hope to all of us sidekicks. We could all use a break from 'hero gets the girl'. Their relationship isn't perfect, but it was hinted at and is still better than Harry&Hermione. Harry valued sense of humor, he wanted to be with someone who could make him laugh and that's one of the reasons he chose Ginny. I don't think Hermione could have given him that.

In the books, there was scarcely any development that would have made her end up with Harry. Harry make a few vague references to finding her not unattractive, but the bulk of the sixual tension is between Ron and Hermione.

In the films, Harry looks like the better choice because Hermione is rewritten to be his main confidant, and http://www.tor.com/blogs/2014/01/erased-by-time-and-blockbusters-the-cautionary-tale-of-ron-weasley

Spoiler
The whole story ended wrong as far as I'm concnered. Harry should have
died during the fight with Voldemort, so...

... naturally, she'd end up with Ron. Not to mention their relationship had been building from the beginning and there was never any romance between she and Harry.
