TES basic info help.

Was wondering if someone would be kind enough to post links of a good place to get a crash course in ESO lore. And secondly , as long as it doesnt break the NDA, do you guys think a light armored ranged nuker templar would be viable.I am torn between sorcerer and templar based on what info we have.Ofc understandable if people arent allowed to answer the second question. Thanks.

Obviously without going into any detail, if you want to be a "ranged nuker" then ANY class would work if you were also using a Destruction staff (or bow, if you consider a broader definition of 'nuking' as simply ranged damage).

There ARE some class-specific abilities which are ranged, too, and that comes down to a matter of style/choice. I THINK they've revealed at least some of the initial skill lines for the classes already... so, the sorcerer has a lightning line and a "dark magic" line, I think. The Templar has, of course, a healing line, and I think some kind of sun-damage line... for what it's worth, the nightblade also has a ranged line, I think (siphoning?) and the dragon knight may well have some kind of ranged attacks (I've seen a video of the chain-yank, which isn't "nuking" and you probably don't want to pull foes close to you if you are a nuker, unless you use PBAOE nukes).

As for ESO Lore... There's another thread up here somewhere asking which lore site people use --- might find a source in there.

A good guide for browsing the aforementioned Imperial Library if you want to read in-game books, not just the summaries. You may also want the Second Era http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Second_Era, UESP is quite good for such 'crash courses'.

thanks. Any idea if a ranged templar nuker will be viable in light armor or will it be mostly a melee oriented dps class?

There are no real "schools" of magic like in the single player Elder Scrolls games. I suppose it's possible that there is "fire damage" and "electric damage" and "cold damage" and "poison damage" with corresponding resistances possible through magic gear or potions or something, but I do not believe there is any real distinction between 'schools' of magic at all.

We can make these distinctions ourselves, based on our knowledge of the previous games. Elemental damage is generally Destruction, but Sun damage is classified as Restoration in Skyrim and that's what Templar's 'ranged nukes' are based on, right?
