If I ordered this one, in lieu of ordering the Digital Imperial Edition, will I still get to benefit from the 5 day headstart on the game? ie will retailers have this available to me 5 days before April 4th?

Good question, you should contact your preferred retailer. What it seems is they will send the codes so you can activate but best to check.

OK. So this has been covered. If you bought the physical edition in store you should receive a code on your receipt. If you bought it from the website, it will be emailed to you in a few days. You will not receive the actual game disk before the 4th but with the code, you will be able to play it 5 days early from the website where you redeem. They also have not said if you will be able to use the Imperial stuff right away, early access, but I did talk to a dev and they said that while they have not officially release anything on it, it will likely happen.

Yes, you should receive it before early access launch. Just make sure to check daily and don't filter into your junk folder.

Thank you for clarifying Mtemplar, but if you know someone there, it might be helpful to provide exact clarity on this on the web as to how it will exactly work through different retailers and what to do to ensure they have your email address etc. and it also might be helpful to sticky this thread so it isn't repetitive. The Dev said that they have not officially given word on if the IE stuff will be available, however, they will be giving the details "soon." So think of most likely end of this month before they do give us details.

Don't buy from Best Buy Their prices are incredibly unfair.

If you have further problems, you might want to contact the Best Buy you bought it from. If you contact ZOS about it, they are probably going to tell you to go talk to the company you bought it from; that's what they told me at least.
