Stolen mods uploaded to Steam workshop (again).

Post » Thu Feb 06, 2014 7:52 pm

Sigh,

This is getting very tiresome really.

Stolen mod upload >>>http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=224132395&searchtext=

My original hand created mesh, and texture>>>http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/12396/?

I did not grant permission for this fool to upload my work on the steam workshop, and certainly did not give permissions for this fool to take credit for my hard work.

My mods will be set to hidden on the nexus until this is corrected, and the perp punished.

Did you contact the Steam Workshop about this issue? They can certainly assist in pulling down any mod that should not be there, like this situation.

Actually I tried that last time this happened.

They opened a 'ticket', and nothing happened.

Now GStaff, and Dark0ne on the other hand actually got things corrected before Steam even got back to me on the 'Ticket'.

That's why I am here

Interesting. Do send Gstaff a PM on this, he may not read this thread out of the thousands on the board, but he will assist you with working with Steam Workshop. I will put a link to this thread in the Moderator Section of the boards also.

Thank you CCNA.

It has been a long time since I have seen you avatar (I have been away for some time with personal obligations). Seeing it again brings back fond memories.

I have already PMed GStaff.

Good lord, again?

If it helps expedite things, Gstaff's original post on the subject: http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1349500-mod-stealing-and-recopying/page-2#entry20338763

Should get the desired result fairly quickly. Though if you report it via Steam they've gotten a lot better at dealing with it since this happened the last time.

Yep. That's the #1 problem with Steam Workshop: ease of IP theft. It's not in how easy to upload it (as it's just as easy to upload stolen IP to Nexus), but the responsiveness in the moderation staff in dropping the hammer on the perpetrator. It's like pulling teeth with roots an inch long and with five gnarled prongs* to get the Steam Workshop moderators to do anything.

* = Yes, they do exist. My mom has a mouthful of them.

I recommend the perpetrator be observed to ensure he doesn't rip any other mods.

Or she... IIRC, there was a recent case of ripping to SW (which also took longer than it should have to deal with) with Azarkiowa's ponytails, Jonwd's Footprints, and others and it turned out the perp was female.

EDIT: Another probable rip.
