I've got over 250 hours into my current character but have not went to see the Greybeards yet.

I recently killed a dragon at one of the word walls and a quest popped up that said "return to Esbern". Having played through several times I know this is to come later in the game when Esbern asks you to kill a dragon. Problem is that my current character doesn't even know who he or Delphine is yet.

Before I do anything with this or the MQ I was wondering if anyone has had this issue? I'm worried about hitting a bug when I start the MQ. I (meaning me) knows where he is but my character technically doesn't so I am wondering if i should "return to him" now or just go through the MQ and hope this catches up to itself and resolves itself later.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'm on XBox.
