This is a mod that is based off of SubRosa_Florens's Improved Familiars Mod on the Nexus. While that mod is great, it only improves the base wolf familiar spell.

With this mod, I intend to create scaled familiars in the same vein as the atronach spells. Each level of Conjuration (Apprentice, Adept, Expert and Master) will have it's own familiar. While I have an idea of which animals will be at which level, and how I will scale them to said level, I am always open to community input!

Here is what I have in mind:

Novice - Improved Wolf Familiar (level 6 instead of two, same as SubRosa's Improved Familiar)

Apprentice - Spider Familiar (based on the Giant Frostbit Spider template)

Adept - Sabrecat Familiar (based on Snowy Sabrecat Familiar)

Expert - Bear Familiar (based on Snow Bear)

Master - Mammoth Familiar (based on the mammoth, obviously)

Master - Familiar Thrall (Enhanced Thrall version of Novice-Expert familiars)

Each spell will have it's own spell book.

Currently, I have completed the Spider Familiar and Sabrecat Familiar.

That's interesting...for some reason when I learn the bear familiar spell from the spellbook, instead of a cost per cast of 235, it shows in the magic menu as a cost of 235/second. In use, however, the spell is cast properly for the appropriate cost. Anyone know why this would be? The spell type is "fire and forget."

Another issue.

With the Mammoth Spell, I cannot cast it inside of a city (tested in Whiterun), but I am able to right outside the gates. Could this be due to the type of mammoth form I have being summoned (encMammothWild)?
