So which cuirass artifact is best for my heavy armor char?

Dragonbone Cuirass or the Lord's Mail?

On a sidenote, is the Ebony mail viable for a primarily heavy armor user?

In all my games over the years I've always ended up to use Lord's Mail, because both of its enchantment and the high armor rate.

Of course Lord's Mail doesn't have 100% fire resistance like the Dragonbone Cuirass have, but Lord's Mail has lower weight than Dragonbone Cuirass have IIRC.

In vanilla the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Ebony_Mail_%28artifact%29 is set to be a medium armor, which I think isn't lore friendly since raw ebony it self is heavy as hell.

Dragonbone. That 100% fire resist is priceless (unless, perhaps, if you're a Dunmer). The Lord's Mail is "cast when used" which is less useful, IMO.

Yeah, but the Lord's Mail also happens to be lighter and fits my Imperial Legion character.

To tell you the truth, I'm currently wearing the Dragonbone cuirass (on a level 9 character, no less!) as I'm too scared to face Varus Vantinius in the Arena.

Well, you never said you cared about appearance. :P

It's not significantly heavier. Not like comparing them to the Daedric cuirass.
