Lags microfreezes when turning around

Post » Sun Feb 09, 2014 9:28 pm

Hello folks!

So I'm experiencing this issue with Skyrim - whenever I turn around bristly, I experience stuttering / lags / microfreezes. This mostly happens with any HD texture packs. Of course, I know texture packs have a performance hit, and I don't mind. But a) I have a rather decent rig (i7 2600k / 8GB / GTX690) and I should be able to play with some texture replacers (like Skyrim HD), and B) It's not like installing texture packs impacts my FPS too much. Getting down from 60 to 55 - no prob. But the lags / freezes when spinnint around are killing me. I see all the cool vids of people on Youtube playing with textures, ENBs and whatnot and not having this issue and it got me thinking that I'm missing something. Can anyone help me with this please?

Do you use an HDD or an SSD for the game?

You could try setting your Vsync to Adaptive.

Try that utility too. It helps a lot.

in addition.... (read above too)

This happen everywhere? Are you using in game vsync? What/how many graphic/texture mods are u using? With alot of textures GPU memory can overflow into main memory.

CHeck your driver settings for adaptive vsync and check for max performance settings in power management.

This happens mostly everywhere, yes, Less in locations without towns / NPCs.

I just set max performance in power management and Vsync to adaptive - no chages. As to graphic mods, I am using aMidianBorn packs for weapons / armors, CBBE for bodies, Brows, Beards, Apachii Hair and ... that's pretty much it. No land / object textures because installing those causes the issue.

Is vsync on or off in the game? If you use vsync in the driver turn it off in game.
