Where from can I take some new models, meshes and textures?

Hi, I don't know anything about creating 3D models and using them in games. It could take me months if I try to learn how to do this, but I simply don't have so many free time in my age. But I would like to use some new things and put them in my mod.

I wonder if it is possible to use some models, textures from Oblivion or even from Fallout Nev Vegas- retexture them and use in Skyrim.

For example I'm interested in desert things- plants, rocks, animal- like scorpions or gekos from F:NV. Is it possible to import them and use in Skyrim? What is improtant- is it legal to take them and use in other games?

You cannot use any resources from any other game in your mods. Period.

But you can use modder resources from other games, as long as you have full permission from the person that created them, and are sure that they do not use any files from the original game it was made for.

The Nexus would be a good place to start searching. Each game has a section for resources to use.

There are lots of modders resources on the Nexus, just search in the file/categories section for "modders resources" or "models and textures".

Exotic plants for instance: have a look at these: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22018/?

Ok, I didn't know about that it's forbidden using elements from one game in another (even from Oblivion?Skyrim and Oblivion are both from Bethesda, both open for modders so why?but ok,I want argue with rules)

Tamira- yes, I've already researched and downloaded all interesting things from http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/categories/ ? http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/searchresults/?src_cat=82 ;) now I'm anolysing day by day few next sites in Skyrim Nexus and look at mods permissions- If they are frre tu use and interest me, I download it and hope to use it some day (of course I will check then if permission terms didn't change)

For models you have the modder's resources on Nexus to use. There are some textures too. Then there are plenty of other texture resources all over the web which people use for modding. http://www.cgtextures.com has plenty of raw textures along with some tiled/seamless ones. Then you can usually search for texture resources on places like DeviantArt.

There are quite a few resources on http://tesalliance.org/forums/ that aren't available anywhere else.

Thanks for link Gecko. I begin to make my own textures. But main problem for me is and will be models for these textures to use...

I'm working on mod with huge desert and there isn't too many elements from origonal Skyrim or DLCs to use on deserts, for example new, desert style architecure, buildings

InsanitySorrow- are those modders resources, free to use, retexture, etc.?

You will have to check.
Download the mod and check the ReadMe file for any info on Usage/Permission. (you should do this even if it is in the Resource section, there could be special instructions or exceptions)
If you're unsure if the mod is open for use, contact the modder and ask for permission.

And remember to always give credit to other modders if you use their work :)

When you post at the same time as someone, and you both said the exact same thing.... The post on the bottom got "ninjad."
