Three ingredient potions are likely to produce multiple effects, some that may or may not have good benefits. You may end up with a great potion, or one that will harm you in the using of it.

Which should be done and why??? I always use the ones I listed because for me, they give the strongest benefit for what I want. When you make your own potions, they are usually stronger than what is in the game, except for the ones that completely fill your health, magicka and/or stamina. So I stick with the 2 ingredient potions, for I know there effects, and they will not harm me unless I take a poison one. I personally do not like the three ingredient potions, for to me it lessens the quality of the potion. If I am playing as a warrior, I do not need a potion that both restores health and stamina. Hope that makes sense.
