theories of "Rune"

Post » Mon Feb 10, 2014 4:31 am

so, I am sure by this point we are all familiar with "Rune", the member of the thieves guild with a mysterious past..

does anyone have any theories on who his parents actually are/were? and why they appear to have been erased from the history books?

There was a quest where you could help him trace his past was there not? I've never done it.

But all the members of thieves guild seem to have really interesting back stories. Shame they couldn't have given us a decent guild master.

For a blessing moment I thought you were talking about runes. You know, magical spells runes. :bonk:

I was hoping that Rune had a quest, & you could find a clue to his past on that wrecked ship off the west coast. Maybe someone will make a mod to that effect.

He was supposed to have a quest but it was cut from the game.

I think the one that you investigate his story is the Dark Elf with an Argonian name (Bran Shei). It would have been neat to have a quest for Rune though.

I spent hours scouring the north coast trying to find something relating to Rune... Needless to say it ended with me flipping Beth the bird and leaving my laptop in a foul mood.

The only thing we know is that the people who are connected to Rune seemingly erased every aspect of their existence. The rune stone is connected to that.

I just wish they had implemented a quest for him.

Didn't the Grey Fox's cowl erase its holder from existence? I just read this theory on UESP. It makes sense. Maybe there'll be a reference to it in the future Thieves' Guild questline.

Grey Fox: "I was forced to abandon my son and don the cowl..." etc.
