The Great Merchant Wars

In 2093 a man named Angus set up camp in a town relatively untouched by the Great War. In the weeks that followed he scavenged the town for anything that had worth and began trading it with nearby settlements like Necropolis, Junktown and Boneyard. He eventually discovered that the town’s water tower was still functional and that its water was still pure, this lead to an influx of wastelanders settling in the town. Within no time the town became a hub for merchants in California which lead to Angus dubbing the town “The Hub”.
The Hub became so successful that they decided to introduce currency to the core region in the form of bottle caps. This proved to be ingenious as the idea of using bottle caps as currency spread all over post-apocalyptic America. And as the years passed the Hub grew larger and larger and merchants decided to group together and create companies. The companies engaged in nonviolent competition which was ultimately beneficial to the people of the core region as prices decreased. Two companies in particular rose to fame; these companies were Crimson Caravan and Far Go Traders.
In 2120 Angus declared himself the Hub’s Governor, five years later he was shot dead in the street which inevitably lead to the Hub’s slow descent into chaos. The leaders of Crimson Caravan and Far Go Traders began to fight over who would take Angus’s place as governor which allowed a group of merchants to conquer the water tower. These merchants dubbed themselves “The Water Merchants” and began to demand a toll for anyone who wanted water. This lead to the Hub’s citizens rioting but there efforts proved futile.
On January 7th 2126 Crimson Caravan decided to attack the Water Merchants in hopes of securing the water tower but they failed miserably. To make things worse, in there retreat they were attacked by Far Go Traders but Crimson Caravan managed to pull off a successful counter attack which fended there would be executioners off.
A month has passed since that day and things in the Hub are worse than ever. There are constant battles between the three merchant companies and more and more innocent Hub citizens are dying. A citizen by the name of Roy Greene has decided to take matters into his own hands and form a militia of sorts. His goal is to put an end to the conflict and to make the Hub independent. You are a member of Greene’s militia, are you ready to fight for the Hub’s independence?
