Questions re: the upgrade to Imperial

Post » Wed Feb 12, 2014 7:35 am

Hi everyone,

First post here.

I hastily ordered the Digital Standard edition from GreenManGaming and didn't notice that the early access was for 3 days and not 5.

I am unable to refund as I already have the Access Keys, and need to wait until 4.4.14 until I can upgrade to Imperial.

Given the main reason for me to upgrade would be to get the 5 days, I won't buy it on 4.4.14. It seems strange that ZOS don't make it available prior to this date to get the benefit of the 5 days early access.

I asked ElderScrollsOnline and they seemed to imply that I can only buy the upgrade from GMG as they gave me myaccess code, while GMG say I can only buy it from ElderScrollsOnline.

It says the following on ESO's website:

Can I upgrade to the Digital Imperial Edition?
Starting April 4th, 2014 all customers who pre-purchased the Digital Standard Edition can upgrade to the Digital Imperial Edition by visiting The Elder Scrolls Online Store . This will allow them to receive the exclusive collection of in-game rewards available from the Digital Imperial Edition. This upgrade service will be available from April 4th, 2014. If players have purchased a physical copy of the Standard Edition but wish to upgrade to the Digital Imperial Edition, our upgrade service is there to help you do so. If you pre-ordered a physical edition at a retailer, please contact that retailer to discuss changing your pre-order

If anyone can provide some insight that would be greatly appreciated.

You can upgrade to imperial at any time.

Why buy from GMG and not from the TESO website ?! I'll never understand why people buy digital versions from other shops than the actual game website.

Was nice having the horse this weekend though, so there is a plus for buying from the manufacturer.

Thanks for all the replies.

They said they won't as I already received the access code, and are concerned around misuse of it. (e.g selling it on)

I would recommend contacting support again at a later time, hopefully their response will be different then.

You did admit you hastily ordered the Standard Digital Edition... be more careful from now on.

Yes good idea. Trying to get correct information from 2 different support desks is seemingly impossible.

Yes, I put hastily for a reason. Was annoyed at myself for trying to save a few bucks.

A part of me regrets not purchasing the physical Imperial Edition, but I did save 25% by purchasing the digital edition.

Customer Support can certainly be a pain to deal with, but it doesn't hurt to be persistent.

I bought it because of some obvious reasons.

-The game is huge and hordes are very expensive.

-Imperials are badass.

-Imperials armors are badass.

-Badass pet.

Well I did purchase the digital edition... mainly to support the developers.

But I agree, Imperials are badass.
