I just pre-ordered the game after a very enjoyable test run in the beta.

But I wonder... When this beta ends and the early access finally begins, will I be able to pick up where the character left off or do I need to start over?

I believe you will have to start over and should be a good idea too. Who knows what bugs a character might carry from a beta server, plus wouldn't be fair to people buying for early access to compete with people that tested beta and had more time to develop their characters.

The beta's are mainly to test teso's servers and prepare for official launch.

All beta data will be wiped prior to the official launch.

Beta characters will be wiped HOWEVER...

Characters you create during the 5 day EARLY ACCESS will transfer over once the game is fully released.

Wouldn't make much sense to have a plethora of very powerful and wealthy beta characters running around when the release hits. Usually best to start out with an even field.

Most (not all) games wipe all characters prior to launch. I very much hope that occurs here too. It would be unfair for those of us in the beta to have a headstart.
