54 mods, massive slowdown

Getting back to skyrim after quite a while.

I used to use wrye bash, but started with mod organizer this turn, it seems to work great. I added a couple mods, and ran at around 30-40 fps, with occasional dips into the high 20s.

As soon as i add a 54th mod however, the framerate doesn't get above 20, let alone higher. Any idea what the cause is? any idea how i can fix it?

No matter what mod i add, it drops. I've tried with gildegreen regrown, the paarthunax dilemma, and a few others. They all have the same effect.

8 gig ram

AMD radeon 7870

running 2560x1440

I use boss, and wrye for the bashed patch. I'm also running ENBoost and SKSE.

Skyrim Flora Overhaul and Distant Detail mods may be giving you lower FPS, those add alot

SMIM is power hungry. If you add distand detail AND HD tekstures, then all bridges, mills, etc will be loaded; textures, light and shadow will be applied, even if you can't actually see them SmIM will force it to even better quality, but you will not see it from far away. This combination is just too much for game engine.

This doesn't make any sense. There's no way Gildegreen or Paarthunax does that to your framerate, and there's no way just adding a 54th mod, no matter what it is, does that either. You're going to have to do some rigorous testing to figure out what's going on.

Well, not too much for the game engine really (at least with ENBoost etc.). There are lots of people (me included) who run that and more w/o issues. But, yes, it all adds up for less powerful rigs of course.
