Did i mention im a big fan of pay to play as my expirience has been much more pleasing over the years when it comes to p2p. In comparrison to f2p ofcourse.
Im just ranting about how cash shops ruin game expirience for me.

Money has to be made, while maintaining game balace. Having this type of service provide players the option to purchase or to not to enhance the game for their personal requirements. Did you not read my thread? THIS TYPE OF PURCHASE IS NOT FROM A CASH SHOP. Vanity such as pets are just Role Play perks, just because you purchase through a store on a website, does not mean that, that store is a cash-shop more of an additional service store. I hate the word cash shop.
Not sure who that's directed act tbh, but you seem to share my view, just more bluntly : d
And i hate the whole idea of it. Its the principal here. P2p NO shop, f2p do whatever the flying *&^%$ you want.
But i might lean a bit towards extreme when it comes to this kind of thing, as i feel ''cash shops'' have ruined almost any mmo to date. And it all comes from money hungry suits who dont give a rats posterior dimention about how mature players feel about how this effects their gameplay. And dont get me wrong, i dont mind that if you want to change your race you get the option to do so for a fee. But not for profit.
Sure I understand that, but it's always been the way for MMO's and I don't see it as an overly negative thing, you have a choice to buy the extra bits or to not too, you aren't hindering your gameplay if you don't so there is no significant benefit other than ''Oh thats cool''
I quoted you but I was pretty sure we were on the same page. Just saying it out loud.
The point that this interview has been hashed and rehashed and drama'd over and over. Its old news.
A service by the way is not a cash shop, every mmo that has came out in the past 12 years has offered something like this, some from the start others years later. There is no ingame benefit to help boost your character by having your name changed or anything else of the such.
Uhh, you are aware that the Explorer pack is not exclusive to the Imperial edition, right? You can also get the Explorer pack with the standard edition.
If you don't know what the Explorer pack is, the Explorer pack allows us to create any race in any faction. That means a Nord can join AD or DC and is not limited to the Ebonheart Pact. This is to provide an incentive to pre-order directly from Zenimax. When gamers order directly from Zenimax, Zenimax gets 100% of the purchase price and don't have to pay a cut to retailers.

yes, i had the feeling we where.
The cash shop is fine if they stay with their current business model which is not going to happen. The MMO has too huge of a mountain to climb so the cash shop is eventually going to be something else other then vanity items.
I was un-aware it had been posted many times, it just seemed odd that people still yell the word cash shop, when it doesn't even EXIST in this title yet, I totally 100% agree, it's my point I do not like the word Cash Shop. At all. I agree with everything you say, im with you.
The issue with saying there is no cash shop is that really there is.
They won't just be selling name changes and typical MMO services. They have announced that the Imperial Edition benefits will be available to anyone 'upgrading' using their 'upgrade service'.
Now here is the thing a lot are arguing...
Selling a race and exp bonuses with some fluff for £20 would be generally be considered a cash shop.
Selling a service which includes a race and exp bonuses with some fluff for £20 isn't.
Can you spot the difference? The word service? Really? That's how little it took for some people to accept it?
The concern some have is that since this line has been crossed more may follow. It is a valid concern.
Now I am not saying the Imperials will be THE race however to say they won't have their niche in class design is naive (especially when their QA alluded to exactly that). Until we know the racials we also cannot say they are a P2W feature.
Yes I am aware, but you do not have to pre-order if you do not want too, I still feel my point is still worthy, can still wait till release and then buy it outside of pre-order.
I tend to agree, however Imperials were sort after as a playable race, and... to allow them to be in any alliance seems logical to me personally. They couldn't put them into one alliance without it actually giving them a significant bonus to numbers, Imperials should be lesser in numbers, and this is a good way to do it. Granted the racials could completely turn that around, so I will greatfully eat humble pie if it comes down to that. but my point still stands, as the standard edition, you get the game you pay for with access too 9 races, but if you want to branch out of your alliance this additonal purchase allows that choice, but it is not promoted to do so, IF YOU WANT to branch off, then you can with an additonal cost, if you don't want too, then don't. Until we know the racials here is not much of a benefit to playing imperial unless you like their style, they dont have beginner zones like each other alliance does, it's just a bonus to fans of the series who commit to a pre-purchase?
Now if you say to the gamers tough luck, can't purchase it now too late if you want to be imperial, and take away that ability... then that will cause a very un-happy playerbase. So naturally offering them the ability too buy later on, is fair and justified. But that's really my own opinion....
The point was any feature in the game that can be translated to money is fluid. This applies to what will be in the cash shop eventually. Doesn't matter what they may have said in the past. The prime example was that the devs have said the nine races would be split into three distinct warring factions since the reveal. It was only last week we found out that would be changed though the Explorer pack (personally, it won't affect my gameplay). So to make definitive statements about what will or won't be sold in a cash shop is pointless. If they can monetize it and think it can generate revenue, they'll probably end up doing it. They'd be crazy not to.
