Texture Swap (How is it done; can it be done?)

I am working on a mod for a custom ammo type for 12 Ga. Shotguns. I want the shells to be a different texture than the standard red plastic ones.

The guns only support one shell casing model, but I was hoping there is a way to re-skin it with http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj125/Gizmojunk/Shocker.jpg via script (or FOSE); so that when the shells eject they look obviously different.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

(The mod at the moment ~Sans balance tweaks, is the 2nd link in my SIG)

As far as the game engine is concerned, your shell casing is just a text string directing the renderer to a NIF. It is not an object that can be edited via script. But I am hoping Behippo can add that capability to NVSE eventually .
