Websites and magazines can't really be objective.
I mean their business comes from the fact that video game companies support them and give them copies of the game for previews before anyone else, not to mention interviews and invites to close events. If they start running their mouths off about a bad game, even justified, the dev that made that game may reconsider in the future giving anything to the website/magazine. Not to mention other game companies may decided to not offer any support to that website if there is a high chance their creation will be demolished in the ratings and spoken ill of, especially if they know their game isn't really that good.
Personally, I don't trust websites and magazines to make an objective impression.
Nice to see some positive feedback.
(in before the H8)
PR at it's finest. Glad to see them fire back
Well ....."positive"... its advertised on their own website, so of course they choose the least damaging reviews for their "bad stock" and have a majority of good ones.
I'm not saying the game svcks and they're covering it up, but don't trust biased reviews advertised on the website of the very game they reviewed, it's granted to be biased.
Yeah! Right! It's like a big ol kick in the metaphoric balls to the ridiculous backwards reviews so far! Nice one ZOS.
I'm thankful for that list, as it's only the bad reviews that seem to bubbling up to the surface in recent Google searches. Gives me something to point friends to instead.
Whilst I love this game as a long standing fan of the series and of MMORPGs in general, I can't help feeling that they've cherry picked the best bits from reviews and have left out all the criticism. BUT this is to be expected, after all. No games company is going to put disparaging reviews on their own website; it's akin to shooting oneself in the foot.
I agree with the comments shown though as I think the game is brilliant. I do think, however, that it could be even more brilliant with some subtle tweaks and twists here and there and i've submitted as such via the in-game /feedback system.
its just nice to see a collection of positive reviews after all the negative [censored]e we have been seeing the last few days. Especially when the majority of beta testers are excited about the game.
This was my favorite quote.
http://www.tesoelite.com/2014/02/elder-scrolls-online-beta-impressions-story/ – “The In my opinion, along with Elder Scrolls Online, we’ve finally gotten out of that WoW clone thing that plagued the MMO scene for a long while – the game feels fresh while keeping that familiar, strong Elder Scrolls taste many of us grew up with.”
As someone who has played virtually every MMO out there, this is not how I feel!
