Seaking mainly for PVP. What you guys think?

Any game that allows a different level of stats through gear is not going to be based on skill.
It is the prime reason why I can never get into PvP beyond "for lulz" in RPG type games.
The only way you could avoid the issue is by having all people in PvP zones have equal stats.
Guess what my favorite race in Starcraft is. Go on!
I can't say much cuze of NDA.
But rest assured, zerg rushing got crushed by strategy on the last day of beta, and it got crushed by the faction that, until leadership took over, was losing.
Stick to that if you believe you will win in pvp and get your faction to crown an emperor.
The "no gear required" model is never going to get big. People need to feel that their character improves as long as they play. A game with no gear is not an MMo but an FPS.
and the numbers? Was the losing faction outnumbered vastly? say 3 or 4 to 1? I doubt it.
You can do that if you meet some one alone willing to do that, guess what you will accomplish? Nothing, no one cares since it won't help your faction get emperor.
It wasn't at the gates of defeat, no, but it was losing badly yes. Too bad I can't share more, I would explain everything in detail.
But again, your opinion is that zerg rushing will win, I'm not saying it will NEVER win, by far I'm not, but overall? It will lose so bad you can't even believe it.
Scorpion military tactics are actually effective in this game, good luck on your zerg rushing.
Exactly, which is why there will always be this issue. Each additional element you add that creates inequality, other than player skill, is going to detract.
This is somewhat balanced by group PvP, since the average gear level has potential for having less impact.
Having not experienced TESO PvP myself, I cannot comment (well also NDA), but if you want gear to have little influence, group pvp is your better bet.
Strategy will decide who hold a lot of keeps, an different topic.
As for PvP, all has been boosted to 50 in the demo so gear did not matter.
We don't know how important it will be or rather how much difference it it between having good gear and the best gear, bad gear is always an bad idea
You must block at the right time. You must interrupt at the right time. You must dodge at the right time. You must manage your resource properly. You have to pick a skill set that works well together. You must choose when a tank, hybrid, healer or dps build is required depending on what party make up you are in (because this isn't define by your class ... it is defined by you). This game offers FAR more player choice when it comes to your character and how it is played.
This is the most hilarious question ever to hit boards (referring to all games). Every single game has people saying it doesn't take skill. Wow doesn't take skill ... yet there are players WAY better than you. Swtor doesn't take skill ... yet even when I played it I could beat 90+% of equal or better geared players and rank top on boards nearly every time out. I guess it took no skill.
Now we have this game where it crosses over ever farther into skill based playing and STILL people say it won't take skill. The end result is that even though you may think it takes no skill there WILL be players better than you. Even with the same gear and skill setup some players will end up stomping the majority of players time and time again. This is called skill. You may call it no-life gaming but they still will be better than you.
Players will get placed in different campaigns and I hope there is a system that places high powered guilds against each other. This is good for everyone besides the few who like to steam roll people.
My hope is Alliance Ranks are one of the main factors in what campaign a player gets placed in.
