Regional survey..

Im trying to compile some data from some real time sources. Its a very unique situation to a lot of areas, and quite common for others. I look forward to your contribution if you so take interest in participating.

I am trying to gather how often you see people wearing 5 gallon cow boy hats. This is actually on the street, in your school or business, house or arena. Not in a movie.

I live in New Hampshire right next to Massachussetts... 45 minutes into either state I can pretty much span most of it. In 25 years of living. I have seen one person genuinely fashion a cowboy hat. An old man at a cultural festivity for the Lebanese people I have attended. They host them every year and I have probably seen him there a handful of times over the years.

I am trying to ultimately pin markers on the map and catalog a span of time to register the difference in regions from various life instances.

Your input will be extremely useful to me for my project. I thank you for your assistance.

Interesting question I must say. Where I live, good ole North Carolina, cowboy hats are actually quite common in certain places such as fiddlers conventions, the local flea market and some around town. I can't give an exact number but I'd say at least 20 different people. That's a rough estimate though.

I live in the UK. I don't think I've ever seen someone wearing one that wasn't part of a costume that wasn't their everyday attire, and even then I don't recall the last time I actually saw one. Then again, hats in general (other than baseball caps, woolly bobble hats when it's cold and those things that Ali G wears) are seldom worn at all these days.
