Face to Face Chat Screens

Would it not be cool if you could initiate dialogue with other players like your character initiates dialogue with NPCs, or like in previous incarnations of the Elder Scrolls.

I.E. My character "Alonzo the Altmer" goes up to your character "Kathy the Khajit" and presses the appropriate button/ command to initiate a dialogue. The other player can accept or decline. If they accept then you are brought face to face with each other (think of a skype video chat, or how you interact with other NPCs). You would be able to have a private conversation, maybe people in the area would be able to overhear in the chatbox in the talk channel, and you could have options to select trade, give, or something else. It would also be fun cause you could probably see people react to the conversation with emotes.

Then imagine if your 4 player group wanted to start a group chat, you know before you enter a dungeon, just to have fun, or to compare and trade loot acquired in PvP or adventuring etc . . . You could initiate a group chat and have the screen split in 4 so you could see everyone and look at loot, watch emotes, trade, recap funny stories of your dungeon run and generally just have a good time.

The feature I am suggesting seems very elder scrolls like and I think it could enhance the game. Imagine groups of players chatting in town or in PvP zones, or other places it seems pretty cool to me.

Its a really nice concept and I'm all for anything that promotes social interaction within the game.

Having said that though I voted No, and for chat bubbles as an option simply because I think a feature like this might take a while to design, implement and make the community familiar with at this point in time. There are so many other features I'd like to see that reinforce the Elder Scrolls legacy and this would definitely be on the list, but not at the top. Although I have no idea what goes into developing, but if it took minimal resources to do this then I guess I wouldn't object at all

An option for this would be ok, but personally I wouldn't use it. I don't want to be running through an area and find myself faced with an irritating pop-up window I have to click on to get rid of just because THEY want to chat. Send me a tell, which I can glance at and either ignore or respond to should I feel like it, no clicks required.

If someone makes a mod for this type of interaction it would be genius. I would very much enjoy it. I mostly envision a feature like this to be used in towns and places with not a lot of activity between friends or guildmates.

While this would be pretty nice chat bubbles are more important. But yeah go ahead and add this if the devs have the time after more important things are already in the game :P
