What does a true nord hero don?

Post » Sun Feb 16, 2014 12:40 am

For me the epitome of a true nord is a dragon plated hero with nord hero greatsword and bow. Or maybe a Nordic sword with a Nordic bow.

Weapons aside, I think the aesthetics are more important personally when it comes to a true Nord. Long scruffy mane, and nice long beard.

Whatever he wants.

Any sane hero is going to be more concerned with how effective his equipment is, not if he looks good for posterity. The Nord decked out in appropriately enchanted gear of the best quality he can get his hands on, has his weapons sharpened and ready, an appropriate amount of curatives and plans of attack is going to be a far better adventurer than some bloke concerned about whether he's holding his Nordic greatsword in the proper Nord tradition.

I'd rather die weak with a smile on my face, then powerful and strong knowing that I didn't stay true to myself Harry.

If you want to make your character a stereotypical Nord hero, then he needs to look the part facillaly before worrying about what gear to put on in my opinion.

...let's be realistic, most weathered adventurers aren't going to give a toss about what they're wearing, just whether it's practical and useful. The "stereotypical Nord", if we're really going to throw this up, would be those naked dudes in Morrowind.

We don't actually see any "stereotypical Nords" anywhere. Stereotypical Stormcloaks wear light armor, but an actual seasoned Nord adventurer would wear whatever is most beneficial for his fighting style and whatever he's most accustomed to wearing.

@LordofBones My true nord character is like that. Enchanted dragon armor with archery and two handed. I just need money to enchant for alteration. I plan on getting magic resisance but Its gonna take a while to get gold.

Ancient Nord armor. But alas, this is just looking the part.

To BE a True Nord Hero however... I recommend you seek out a Dragon Priest for guidance. Just uh... stay clear of my colleague, Otar. He... is not right in the head, let's just say.

I'm surprised nobody has made the armor from his statue out of Nordic Carved armor, they're similar in ways.

ha so they should go to Valthume for guidance where the halls are full of signs of torture and death to your followers? :P

I would tend to think if you RP as a true nord then you would wear anything that has nord in it (ancient nord, Nordic carved).
