You are like air to others. It' so unclear and messy when there is many characters in same place. Are there gonna be changes this?

I very much doubt there will be any changes to this as it's a pretty fundamental part of the system now and would require massive reworking to include collision detection at a player level.

Collision detection is a mess in MMOs. At best, it allows others to grief players by blocking passages/doors. At worst, it creates massive server lag, preventing people from playing.

Realistic in the game? No. Realistic in terms of game design limitations? Absolutely.

What MIGHT be able to be done is with enemy npc's, letting them have collision, but I do notice that the enemy NPC's usually TRY to NOT go through you very hard, so it might be scripted at least.

But players collision is impossible to do, just not possible at all, I get 20 guys at a city gate to afk there, good luck passing, I will do this to all possible exists, what then?.. Or I just make a circle and now you're stuck forever.

Player collision elsewhere but not the gates/exists and safety area...

You know how much harder it would be to code that?

Think like a developer instead of a player. Collision detection means that everything needs to have it, which means that much more work going on in the background every time someone moves. Adding a layer of removing collision detection when in a specific area only makes things worse.

I would like to see it on npcs as I like running pass and see them go "woow there". But for actual player I don't think so ,as it's very annyoing when people get in ur way even when it's not on purpose.

But if it was all or nothing. I'd be happy without it

I have never seen a game with context-specific collision detection. It's just not feasible. I've seen multiplayer games with full collision detection, and it only made it annoying.

It works in games where there are a small number of players present in any one zone/map. When you have thousands of people in the same area - and with phasing on top of that - collision detection involves a lot of overhead, and this is only made worse by the fact that clients aren't (and can't be) synchronized, nor trusted to resolve the differences themselves.
